The London Modern Quilt Guild formed in January 2012 and have an active membership who are passionate about promoting modern quilting.

Afternoon Speaker: Claire Passmore
"I make quilts for sheer pleasure, from the moment I have the first idea to putting the last stitch in place; I enjoy every step of the journey.”
Claire originally trained as a teacher and taught in the UK and in Poland. In 2006 she retired from education and now fills her days with cloth, thread, dye and paint. She has been making quilts and other textile art since 2006.
Her work has been exhibited in the UK and internationally in museums, galleries, magazines and in private collections.
She published her first book, “Quilting Originals”, in 2015.
Challenge: “Light and Dark”
Your challenge item can be from postcard size to a maximum of 24? x 24?.
Your entry can be a piece you’ve already made or a newly created work in response to the topic. If you think you have work that fits the title of the challenge – have a try. It’s a fun way to try out new techniques in a smaller format!
Enter an item for the challenge and you may win a prize for the visitors’ choice.
Trader: The Village Haberdashery, West Hampstead
Wear your name badge and you will receive a raffle ticket for the prize draw later in the day.
Refreshments will be available throughout the day. There will be a charge of £1 for unlimited tea or coffee.
