I am a patchworker and quilter, but I also knit every single day! I recently attained my Level 2 City & Guilds in Textiles and Embroidery and that is what re-sparked my interest in patchwork and quilting. I made a hexagon quilt for my daughter, over thirty years ago, and didn't really know what I was doing. Thus, the quilt frayed and came apart, but was very pretty. My first quilt since starting patchwork again, took forever but I learned a lot about cutting and stitching along grain lines, and my C & G had taught me about managing colour. I was determined this quilt would use up fabrics I already owned, including re-purposing our old clothes and 'stuff' I had found in charity shops. It did include some clothes from me and my children, and even my eldest grand-daughter. And, I find I love to use calico.
